Lessons Learned…

Lesson 1:

Just because shoes are cute, vintage and a super deal at the thrift store does not mean that you should wear them all day. {ouch!}

Lesson 2:

I suck at deep frying. I went out on a limb and tried to make Smitten Kitchen’s chocolate donuts without a candy thermometer. This was an epic fail in my culinary adventures. The above picture is the 5 donuts out of 3 dozen that actually didn’t {totally} burn.

Lesson 3:

Baking the remainder of the donut dough is not an acceptable alternative. Unless you like little chocolate hockey pucks.

I have learned my lessons on shoes and donut frying this week. Have you tried anything new? I will take making mistakes and learning new things to ever staying comfortable!

Try a thing you haven’t done three times. Once, to get over the fear of doing it. Twice, to learn how to do it. And a third time, to figure out whether you like it or not.-Virgil Garnett Thomson
